This is the second construction project undertaken by BREMER for wholesaler Gienger, this time in Mannheim.
Destined to become the new corporate headquarters of Wilhelm Gienger Mannheim KG, the building consists of a warehouse fronted by a 3-storey structure with display, training and sales areas. Above the 35-gate despatch area are two mezzanine levels with offices and social facilities. The facades consist of concrete sandwich elements and insulated sandwich panels in facades in graduated grey tones. The first floor display area has a prestigious window wall framed by a projecting aluminium composite panel monitor.
One of the leading specialist wholesalers for building service technology, the client attaches great importance to modern building systems that meet high environmental and economic standards. Heating for the warehouse and the express collection facility will be provided by a concrete core activation system integrated in the floor slab. In addition, underfloor heating will be provided for the first floor display area and heated/chilled ceilings are planned for the offices and training rooms. The energy will be produced by gas-fired condensing boilers, air-to-water heat pumps and a combined heat and power unit.
Externally, a covered outdoor storage area is under construction, complete with filling station.
