The approx. 145,000 m² site in Obertshausen offers ample space for the turnkey realisation of the package handling hall with office building and exterior facilities. The structure consists of BREMER precast reinforced concrete elements with a perforated trapezoidal sheet roof. The facade is composed of a reinforced concrete sandwich base beneath a strip of windows with an insulated steel facade above. An additional distinguishing feature is the large number (330) of docking points. In front of the handling hall is a 5-storey office building. Geothermal energy is harnessed for base-load heating, for ecological reasons, but needs to be supported for peak load heating by gas-fired condensing boilers. At 70,000 sqm, the concreted exterior facilities are very generously dimensioned. Their realisation requires 1,900 BREMER precast reinforced concrete elements.
Germany's biggest package handling centre is designed as a clear-spanned distribution hall with 56m BREMER-made trusses.
