This is BREMER's first construction project for Aurelis Real Estate Management. It involves the realisation of a logistics building for a noted automobile manufacturer on a steeply sloping site at the Kornwestheim container terminal. Designed by Kühnl & Schmidt Architekten AG in Karlsruhe, the facility is divided into two storage areas, a tyre warehouse and a wide-aisle warehouse. Above the loading bays is an office/social facility area. Because of the inhomogeneous site conditions, deeper foundation work is required beneath the foundations and industrial floor slab. The logistics building is accessed by 11 ground-level gates and 3 rear loading ramps. The facade consists of horizontal insulated sandwich elements. Sprinkler protection is provided by an ESFR system.
